The miraculous statue returned to its cave three times after being placed in the local church. Now the statue, known as La Moreneta,has become an exhibit for tourists who come to pay respect each day to it. On Sundays a traditional boys' choir gives a concert at 11am in the monastery complex where the statue resides.

For those of you who love shopping , be prepared to enjoy the best shopping trip in the beautiful Magalluf. The promenade and streets in the centre of Magalluf are lined with dozens of shops filled with goods of all kinds from beachwear, souvenirs to local products. Every Monday there is a market in Calvia, six miles inland and be aware that good buys here include porcelain, jewellery and leather goods. There is also a popular market in Inca each Thursday that is really worth visiting . There are good supermarkets in both Magalluf and neighbouring Palma Nova that stock all the well-known international brands, as well as local products.
Eating out
Magalluf is a resort favoured by young budget travellers, and it therefore has an abundance of fast-food outlets. Find available in the resort everything from McDonalds, Burger King to Pizza Hut. The resort also has a wide selection of restaurants, the majority catering to British tastes offering all types of cuisine from the local one to the most well known international dishes. There are several restaurants that offer Sunday roasts and other favourites like bangers and mash as well as fish and chips .
Nightlife
It is the vivacious nightlife of Magalluf is well known to everyone and is undoubtedly one of the main reasons that you could choose to visit this resort of the Balearics . You are given the choice to start your evening in one of the numerous bars and move on to dance or theme parties hosted by top DJs in the numerous clubs along the famed Punta Ballena strip. The most renowned of Magalluf's clubs is the massive BCM, which uses around three million gallons of foam to cover its floor on its famous foam party nights. Other well-known names are Carwash, Bananas and Boomerangs which are worth visiting even if that is only for one drink . A popular alternative to drinking and clubbing is an evening at the Pirates Adventure theme dinner and show that will undoubtedly amaze you .
Activities
Daytime activities in Magalluf are centred on the long sandy beach, where you are given the chance to practise your favourite watersports, like jet skiing, donutting, kite surfing or even scuba diving. The waterpark and a wild west theme park are also popular options, offering thrills and spills. Excursions to other resorts on Mallorca, and into the capital, Palma, are also available for you .
Waterpark
The Aqualand Magaluf on the edge of the resort is a huge waterpark with thrilling rides for older kids and some tamer ones for the toddlers. It will be waiting for you every day May to October from 10am in the morning to 6pm in the evening, but do close during the cooler winter months for general repairs and refurbishment of the park
What to see
Don’t miss while in Magalluf one of the most popular evening attractions with all nationalities in the south of the island is the Pirates Adventure , which is based on the outskirts of Magalluf. It takes the form of a Dinner-Show with a pirate theme, and has short dialogues in English throughout. From the end of March until the end of October, they have performances every evening except Sunday and Monday. In addition to the family show, there is also a special adults only "Pirates Uncut" performance which is held every Wednesday and Friday night. |
